It has become increasingly evident that the contributions that have been - and continue to be - made by Indigenous Artists to the world of Jazz and Blues is substantial and largely unknown in Canada. From the world-renowned guitarist Don Ross; to Six Nations veterans "The Pappy Johns Band"; to Mnjikaning First Nation's favourite son Ronnie Douglas; the accumulated success, Juno Nominations, achievement awards and critical acclaim bear testimony to the creativity, the determination and the unique perspective which is prominent in the recorded works and performances of the practitioners in the Art.
